1️⃣ A trip to Dubai, all expenses paid 🛫 to compete for BIG cash prizes* as one of the 24 teams competing in the International Qualifier of the 2025 Games Of The Future (GOF).

💡 If the team ends in the Top 6 in the International Qualifiers, they earn another trip to Dubai, all expenses paid, to the main event of Games of The Future.

💥The prize pool at the Games Of The Future is ~500k USD, with the top team bringing home ~$175k and the last place (16th) ~18k*

*Notes: Prize pool estimate based on GOF24. Prize pools in the International Qualifier and GOF’s main event are yet to be announced. Game Rules

Teams of 5 to 7 players: Each match has two stages.

1️⃣ Digital Stage: Two Counter Strike 2 maps played to the best of 7 rounds. Each map earns the team one point.

2️⃣ Physical Stage: 5-a-side Laser Tag, “Plant the Bomb” format, played to the best of 7 rounds. Winning this stage earns the team one point.

💥 Who Wins? After adding the points earned in the digital and physical stages, The team with the highest number of points wins!

Team Requirements

Athletes Required: 5–7
(minimum of 5 must compete, minimum age: 16)

Staff: Optional for Phygital Games USA; up to 5 staff members allowed. 

Winning teams receive travel support for 5 players in the original roster and 2 reinforcements or members of the original team, as well as 1–2 staff.

Reinforcements:
–> 30% of the original roster in the tournament in the US can be replaced for the International Qualifiers in Dubai.

–> 30% of the roster that participates in the International Qualifiers can be replaced for the main Games of The Future event.

Therefore, there are two opportunities to reinforce winning teams towards the international competitions to maximize the Club’s chance of winning.

Tournament Format

General Overview: The competition begins with a group stage, in which teams compete in groups of 4 in round-robin matches.

During the group stage, teams earn points in each match.

Team ranking: Teams are ranked according to the total points earned in all group-stage matches.

Progression: The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, where they will compete in a knockout format, starting in the following order:

• Quarterfinals;
• Semifinals;
• 3rd place match;
• Final

Tie-breakers: In case of a tie between teams in the group stage, the tie is broken by the following criteria:

1. Victories in head-to-head matches between these teams;
2. Greater number of wins in all group-stage matches;
3. Greater number of wins in the Digital stage games in all group stage matches;
4. Greater number of wins in the Physical stage games in all group stage matches;
5. Greater number of frags in both stages in all group stage matches;

If all the above criteria are equal, the placement of teams is decided by draw

Technical Rules

Point system: In every match, teams can earn between 0 and 3 points. A team is awarded 1 point for winning each game in both the Digital and Physical stages.

Athletes and subs: Two (2) teams compete in the match, with five (5) athletes in each team with substitutions allowed after each round.

Digital Stage (Counter Strike 2):

Games: The Digital stage consists of two games, each game is played on a different map and each game awards one point to the winner.

Maps: Mirage, and Train!

Starting side: To determine the starting side for the first round, a knife round is played at the beginning of each match, and the winner of the knife round gets to choose their preferred side. After the knife round, the match transitions to the selected map to begin the game.

Game Settings:
1. Rounds: best out of 7;
2. Round time: 1 minute 55 seconds;
3. Starting money: 800 US dollars;
4. Freeze time: 20 seconds;
5. Buy time: 20 seconds;
6. Bomb explosion timer: 40 seconds;
7. Overtimes: best of 7;
8. Overtime start money: $12,500;
9. Round restart delay: 5 seconds;
10. Overtime break: disabled;
11. Prohibited items: none.
 
At the end of the first 3 rounds, the teams swap sides.

Game winner: If one team wins 4 rounds, they become the game-winner.

Physical Stage (Laser Tag):

Games: The Physical stage consists of one game played to the best of 7 rounds. The winner of the game is awarded one point.

Format: “Digital Flame Activation” or “Plant the Bomb”, where each of the two competing teams plays on defense or offense in a given round.

Starting Side:
The team that played on offense in the last round at the Digital match stage, plays on defense at the Physical stage. At the end of the first 5 rounds, the teams swap sides.

Game Goal: The goal of the offensive team in the round is to “activate the digital flame” at one of the specially designated objects on the playground within the allotted time. The goal of the defensive team is to defend and prevent the activation of the digital flame.

Winner: The offensive team wins if it has succeeded in “activating the digital flame” in the allotted time of the round. The defensive team wins if the opposing team has failed to “activate the digital flame” in the allotted time of the round.

If one of the teams has deactivated all players of the opposing team, such a team wins the round.

Equipment and health points: A player’s standard equipment includes a tactical headband and a tagger(s). Each player receives 100 health points (HP) and 1 life (cannot be revived after being deactivated).
